Everyone CAN practice yoga at Bliss Yoga Studio! We believe that yoga is for every body regardless of age, weight, fitness level, or experience. We have multiple classes on the schedule designed to support beginner’s on their journey to beginning a yoga practice!

Beginner’s Yoga

This series is designed to introduce Yoga to those with limited or no experience. If you’re a beginner in Yoga or haven’t practiced in awhile, start here! In this class, you will learn the basics of Yoga, breath work, postures and alignment and see how all of these combined will help you on your journey to more focus, balance, strength and flexibility. Bliss All Levels.

Bliss Basics

Have you been to Beginner’s Yoga, ready for a little more, but not ready for Vinyasa? This is the class! Bliss Basics is perfect for those newer to yoga and who want to practice with the basics.  Class will incorporate breathing techniques, practice alignment in common yoga postures, move at a slower flow pace, and introduce postures you may not learn in your first beginner’s class. Bliss All Levels.

Blissed Out (Breathe/Stretch/Relax)

Get ready to relax from the chaos of daily life and find your blissful center. Class is a blend of seated and reclined Restorative and Yin yoga postures with self massage via Therapy Balls. Various yoga props are used to support our postures so total relaxation can be obtained and specific areas will be targeted for deep stretch and massage. Breath work and mindfulness techniques are explored to round out the experience of release. You will leave feeling completely Blissed Out! This class is appropriate for all levels, even those without any yoga experience. Bliss All Levels.

Beginner’s Pilates

This class is designed for those brand new to Pilates, or for those who enjoy a slower paced Mat Class focusing on mind/body connection and fine tuning movements. This class breaks down and works through the fundamental concepts and ideas used in all Pilates exercises such as breath work, core engagement, working level and more. Props such as small balls, and thereabands are often incorporated in class. Bliss All Levels.

Beginner’s Yoga Classes

The beginner’s yoga class is designed to introduce Yoga to those with limited or no experience. If you’re a beginner in Yoga or haven’t practiced in awhile, start here! In this class, you will learn the basics of Yoga, breath work, postures and alignment and see how all of these combined will help you on your journey to more focus, balance, strength and flexibility.

 

How it works:

Purchase the “Beginners 5-Class Punch Card” online for $60 and use this to come to any of our scheduled beginner’s classes as it fits your schedule. *The Beginners 5-class punch card can only be used on beginner’s class. Purchase a 10-class punch card to take advantage of our other beginner friendly classes (Blissed Out & Bliss Basics).

Sign in for classes through our website or come 10 minutes before class on to sign up at the studio.

What to expect:

  • Bring a yoga mat, or use a complimentary studio mat
  • Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in but that also allow your teacher to see your alignment.
  • Take off your socks & shoes and leave them up front.
  • Turn off your cell phone and leave it up front during class. No cell phone allowed in the studio, please!
  •  Talk to your instructor if you have any health issues or worries.
  •  Arrive 10 min early so you don’t feel rushed.
  •  Quitely wait for class to begin.
  •  Don’t eat too much close to class start time.

Q: What if I have to miss a week, can I come to a class the following week?

A: Yes! You get 4 classes for the beginner’s session. We recommend & encourage you to come to all 4 classes in one session to establish consistency and learn the full spectrum of the class offering, however we know life happens. Feel free to join the next beginner’s class to make-up for your missed class if need be.

 

Q: Can I join a session that has already started?

A: Yes! You get 4 classes for the beginner’s session. We recommend & encourage you to come to all 4 classes in one session to establish consistency and learn the full spectrum of the class offering, however feel free to join the beginner’s session anytime!

 

Q: What should I bring to class?

A: 

  • Bring a Yoga mat if you have one and if you don’t we have some at the studio!
  • Bring a water bottle if you like to rehydrate during movement.
  • Wear clothing that allows you to move freely. Your clothing should not be so loose that it pulls away from the body went bent over, but not so tight you can’t breath and move freely.
  • Be prepared to move and also be prepared to have moments of stillness.
  • Bring a positive and open attitude towards the discovery of your new practice!
